CONE is the Guardian of the Niagara Escarpment for 2015. CONE monitors the Niagara Escarpment meetings and reports the decisions made. CONE has members at the planning table to assist in identifying sensitive areas and help plan around environmental issues to avoid damaging the endangered species of plants and animals living on the Niagara Escarpment. CONE develops positions on issues and publishes policy statements. CONE has developed four position policies being: Aggregates, Aboriginal Peoples, Wind Turbines on the Niagara Escarpment, Water, Flowing Off the Edge. CONE supports its Member Groups with respect to their local issues. CONE brings and highlights their issues at the broader Niagara Escarpment wide planning table. CONE Partners with other Environment Agencies and Government toward creating more sensitive environment planning at all levels of decision making. CONE is developing an Enterprise Club to highlight Corporations and their leaders who are doing the right things environmentally. CONE wishes to partner with such companies to show others positive examples of the way we want to go forward and protect the Niagara Escarpment together.
